The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently going to the Fernie 2 Group Hall in Mpuluzi to render companies for the community.
SASSA is going to be rendering services which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, in addition to the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a press release, the agency mentioned it is alarmed with regard to the superior number of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The intention on the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to a significant variety of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is due to lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no fully functional office dedicated to service the area each day. The service level developed for intervention encounters a large influx of possible beneficiaries, which makes it challenging for the Workplace to attend to all people who stop by a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise more means to help the servicing of all shoppers and boost entry to Social Assistance expert services,” the agency said.
